Metropolitan's Good Neighbor Policy

Metropolitan Baptist Church is committed to being a good neighbor to residents of the Bates community, specifically those in our immediate area at First and P Streets, NW.

In partnership with the Community Academy Public Charter School (CAPCS), the Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC 5C01), and the Bates Area Civic Association we are working to secure adequate parking for our congregation in order to minimize any impact on current residents.

We have completed the application to use the Dunbar High School parking lot. While we await approval and after, we urge members and visitors to follow the direction of the Sentinels on Sunday mornings.

We believe that communities of faith add value to neighborhoods, and it is our goal that our presence enhances the P Street corridor. On Saturday mornings, our members clean the parking lot and help beautify the neighborhood. We are open to feedback and suggestions on how we can be even more helpful. Please contact Rev. Adriane B. Wise, Minister of Transition, at 202-238-5050 or awise@metropolitanbaptist.org with any questions or comments.

Thank you.

It is a great day in our neighborhood to have a church to reach, teach and educate saints who have gone astray. Most African Americans have a rich knowledge and background in the church.
We are glad to have you in our neighborhood, even if its for 2 years.
